This film is the first in The Colorado Trilogy.

Josh Brolin was originally conceived to portray Boston. After some thought, the part was retooled for Bryan Bishop.

The producer is currently a resident of Colorado and was inspired by the state for some of the scenery.

Past collaborations between the producer and studio include Scream Bloody Murder, Until 5 and An Adventure with Larry and Jon (co-produced by Marlowe).  Bishop has also starred in the two Hardwick films.
